In my practice, I work in long-term, ongoing series that materialise in various permutations over time. To that end, I created 「暁月夜」grey suns《黎明》, an accordion-bound photo book/zine. It draws on one of my newer series of images which I first introduced in the smallest registers of motion《微尘似梦》「上り月や 手に震える」. For grey suns, I added more images to the series and reconfigured it to offer different combinations, sequences and selections. By combining black and light grey risograph ink, I add depth to the images and give them a visual quality reminiscent of pencil drawings. Through syncopations in light and shadow, fullness and emptiness, this work traces a slow and gentle walk amidst the soft shroud of a grey sun.
